The reading curated by Giorgio Cevasco is one of the events selected for the opening of the scientific program for Italy.

On the initiative of IUPAC - the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry - and of UNESCO, 2011 has been declared International Year of Chemistry by the UN.

In Italy (Pisa), the opening ceremony of the scientific program hosts the reading Ascoltando Primo Levi, chimico e scrittore ["Listening to Primo Levi, the chemist and the writer"], previously performed on November 5, 2010 at the Science Festival in Genoa.
The event is curated by Giorgio Cevasco, first researcher at CNR and professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Genoa.
